We can't always do things on our own. As humans we are relational. We learn in relationship to our world and our people in it. Rather than being in the center of our world, we are a part of it.

The world has an impact on us and we have an impact on the world.

As the world evolves, so do we as individuals, families, and societies. Change is often messy, sometimes disruptive and difficult for many of us. We are constantly repositioning ourselves, changing our minds, locations, beliefs, systems and growing with or resisting this change.

We need to consistently "check in" with ourselves and the people in our lives to navigate this journey together and let each other know how we are feeling and who we are as we change, transform, grow and even resist. This keeps us connected. Belonging is a fundamental need.

So even though it can get messy, the mud is the matter that can create something new, perhaps something functional like a bowl or even abstract art. In the messy stage of transformation it is useful to have a container that is safe, confidential and grounding to explore the muddy goo, repair, reform and shape it to fit where you are in your life right now and how you want to connect and share.

Counseling is a process. It's not a quick fix, although you will probably experience an "Aha" moment in almost every session or upon reflection of the session. It's an opportunity to wake up, tune in and expand you consciousness by integrating your life experiences. This is

Transformation.
